Luis Ruiz, MD

Originally born and raised in the Houston area, I first fell in love with West Texas as a student at Texas Tech. I enjoyed my time there so much I decided to stay in the area for medical school where I had the opportunity to take a Border Health elective in Presidio; the highlight of my medical education. I developed a passion for women’s health; equally enjoying Obstetrics and Gynecology. Strong women have cared for me my entire life and I intend to spend my career caring for strong women. It is my honor to do so in the Big Bend region. 

I enjoy cooking, hiking, and playing dominoes with my wife. We have a cat and a dog together. We like taking trips across Texas and New Mexico to visit family and explore the National Parks.
