Sarah Summers, DNP, FNP-BC

Sarah Summers is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner known for her compassionate approach to healthcare. She provides family practice services to Deming and Luna County.

Before joining Mimbres Valley Medical Group/Deming Family Practice, Sarah started her career at the Southern New Mexico Family Medicine Residency Program, where she played a key role in academic and medical education for medical residents. As an interdisciplinary palliative care team member, Sarah’s passion for helping patients and families understand their disease, symptoms, and health goals grew.

Sarah’s experience also includes time at Mesilla Valley Hospice in Las Cruces, where she helped launch palliative care services. Her experience in end-of-life care, palliative care, and family medicine enables her to provide an integrated approach that addresses the physical and emotional aspects of care.

Sarah earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM, in 2010 and completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice at the same institution in 2017.

Outside work, she enjoys skiing with her children, cheering for the Chicago Bears, and spending quality time with her loved ones, including her Great Dane, Winston Walter.
