Thomas McClendon, CFNP

A native of Deming, Tom has spent his life serving Luna County and the southwest region of New Mexico. He retired from the City of Deming Fire Department as a captain in 2005, after spending 20 years as a firefighter and EMT. He enrolled in nursing school at Western New Mexico University and graduated in 2009. He worked as a Registered Nurse at Mimbres Memorial Hospital in the Medical/Surgical Department and in the Emergency Department until 2014. He also became a flight nurse with Air Methods Corporation, and he received his master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2021.
“Taking care of the Deming and Luna County community healthcare needs has been my honor for the last 37 years,” said McClendon. “I’m looking forward to continuing to serve patients as a primary care provider with Mimbres Valley Medical Group, Rural Health Care.”
